Crypto Cities

This piece traces how blockchain-based urban projects construct visual identities through codes of luxury, gamification, and sci-fi imagery. Working chronologically across existing crypto city projects, I extracted their dominant colors and used a robot to plot each hue onto the canvas at points of resonance. The work maps a tension between the rhetoric of openness these projects deploy and the selective, aspirational versions of community their imagery proposes.
